The short answer
For most people, the Xiaomi Pocket Power Bank Pro 10000mAh 33W (₹1,699) is the one to buy: it is compact, has three ports and puts out up to 33W over USB-C. If you want twice the capacity, get the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh 33W (₹2,299–₹2,449 on Flipkart before the sale). For a laptop that charges over USB-C, the URBN Nano Zap 70W 20000mAh (₹2,999 on URBN’s store, ₹1,899 on Flipkart in the sale) gives you 70W USB-C Power Delivery for less than ₹3,000.
This guide is for anyone who needs a power bank for daily use, travel or a laptop that charges over USB-C. Five of our six picks normally sell for under ₹3,000; the Samsung costs more outside the sale, and we say so.
Here’s how we chose. Specs come from the brands’ own pages where we could reach them (URBN, Ambrane and Samsung India). Xiaomi’s India store didn’t load for us, so for Xiaomi we used the launch report and retailer listings. We also kept in mind the questions people ask at Mobivault, our founder Lokesh Rathore’s phone shop in Bhopal, when they buy a power bank: how many charges they will really get, whether it will fast-charge their phone or laptop, and whether it is BIS-registered. We haven’t tested these power banks ourselves, so this is a research-based guide.
We checked prices on 11 October 2026. Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale started on 9 October and Amazon’s festive sale is also on, so we list regular selling prices (the brand’s store, or the retailer’s price before the sale, from PriceBefore’s price history) and give sale prices separately. No prices include bank offers.

Our picks
#1 Best 10,000mAh overall
Xiaomi Pocket Power Bank Pro 10000mAh 33W (Black)
- 10,000mAh · 33W
- 1 USB-C + 2 USB-A
- 199g
- PD + QC 3.0
This is the 10,000mAh power bank most people should buy. Xiaomi’s launch specs list up to 33W from USB-C and 22.5W from USB-A, with three ports for a phone, earbuds and a watch at once, and the same USB-C port refills it at up to 12V/2.5A. Flipkart’s listing also mentions a low-power discharge mode. At 199g it is a little heavier than our pocket pick, but it’s the better all-rounder. Its usual Flipkart price from July to September was ₹1,698–₹1,699, according to PriceBefore, and it is ₹1,599 in the sale.
- Up to 33W over USB-C PD
- Three ports and two-way fast charging
- 1-year warranty
- PPS isn’t listed, so Samsung’s Super Fast Charging isn’t confirmed
- Bigger footprint (9.0 × 6.4cm) and 26g heavier than the URBN Nano
₹1,699 (₹1,599 in the sale)
#2 Best 20,000mAh
Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh 33W
- 20,000mAh · 33W
- 30W input
- 1 USB-C + 2 USB-A
- 440g
This has double the capacity of the Pocket Pro, with the same 33W USB-C output and three ports. Its 30W input matters on a 20,000mAh bank, because a slow input can take all night to refill one. At 440g it belongs in a bag, and Reliance Digital lists it as BIS certified. The price moves around: ₹2,199 at launch in August 2024, ₹2,299–₹2,449 on Flipkart through September and early October (per PriceBefore), and ₹2,058 at Tata CLiQ on 10 October. The ₹1,899 sale price on Flipkart and Reliance Digital makes this a good time to buy.
- Lots of capacity for the price
- Fast 30W recharge over USB-C
- Three ports and a 1-year warranty
- Heavy at 440g
- 33W is too little for most laptops
- No PPS listed
₹2,299–₹2,449 on Flipkart before the sale (₹1,899 in the sale)
#3 Best for laptops
URBN Nano Zap 70W 20000mAh (UPR226)
- 20,000mAh · 70W USB-C PD
- 40W input
- PD 3.0 + PPS
- 328g
Get this one if your laptop charges over USB-C. URBN lists 20V/3.5A (70W) from USB-C, which covers laptops sold with a 65W USB-C charger, plus PPS and Quick Charge for phones. It recharges at up to 40W (2–3 hours, by URBN’s figure) and weighs 328g, light for a 70W bank. There are two catches. URBN lists 5V/3A when both ports are in use, so charge the laptop on its own. And above 60W, USB-C needs a cable rated for 5A (often sold as 100W or 240W), so check the rating of any cable you use with it. URBN’s own store charges ₹2,999. On Flipkart it sold for ₹2,299 through most of August and September, dropped to ₹1,999 on 24 September and is ₹1,899 in the sale, according to PriceBefore.
- 70W USB-C Power Delivery for under ₹3,000
- Fast 40W recharge
- PPS listed, which Samsung’s Super Fast Charging uses
- Only two outputs, and both drop to 5V/3A when used together
- URBN’s spec sheet and the Flipkart listings describe the ports differently, so check the box
- Price swings a lot between stores
₹2,999 on URBN’s store; ₹1,899 on Flipkart in the sale
#4 Best for fast phone charging (PD/PPS)
Samsung 20000mAh 45W Power Bank (EB-P4520)
- 20,000mAh · 45W
- PD 3.0 + PPS
- 3 USB-C ports
- 402g
If your Samsung phone supports Super Fast Charging, this power bank is made for it. Samsung India lists “45W Super Fast Charge 2.0, PD 3.0 PDO/PPS”, three ports and a 30cm USB-C cable in the box, and Flipkart says all three ports are USB-C. Samsung’s compatibility list includes Super Fast Charging on models such as the Galaxy A15, M14 and S10 5G and later, and 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 on phones such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The 45W figure applies only with one device connected. It costs more than ₹3,000 outside the sale (₹4,099 on Flipkart on 4 October, and ₹3,299–₹4,299 in September, according to PriceBefore), and Samsung’s own store showed it out of stock, so buy it at the ₹2,999 sale price if you can.
- PPS for Samsung’s Super Fast Charging, up to 45W
- Three USB-C ports
- 1-year Samsung warranty
- More than ₹3,000 at its regular price
- Samsung doesn’t list the input wattage
- No USB-A port for older cables
₹2,999 in the sale; ₹4,099 on Flipkart before the sale
#5 Best pocket-size
URBN 10000mAh Nano Power Bank 20W (UPR108)
- 10,000mAh · 20W
- 173g
- 5.3 × 3.0 × 8.7cm
- USB-C + USB-A
At 173g and 5.3 × 3.0 × 8.7cm, this is the lightest power bank in this guide with a published weight, and it’s short enough for a jeans pocket. It gives up to 20W from either port, recharges at up to 18W (3–4 hours, per URBN) and comes with a cable. URBN’s spec table lists Quick Charge 3.0, Samsung AFC and Huawei FCP, while its description also claims PD 3.0 and PPS. Output drops to 5V/3.1A with both ports in use. URBN’s own store charges ₹1,499, and Flipkart has the black model for ₹1,199 in the sale.
- Lightest listed weight in this guide (173g)
- Cable in the box and a 1-year warranty
- 20W tops out below what the Xiaomi picks offer
- URBN’s own page is inconsistent about PD and PPS support
₹1,499 on URBN’s store (₹1,199 on Flipkart in the sale)
#6 Best budget
Ambrane Stylo 10 (10000mAh, 22.5W)
- 10,000mAh · 22.5W
- PD + QC 3.0
- 20W USB-C input
- Made in India
If you just want a dependable 10,000mAh power bank for about ₹1,200, get this one. Ambrane lists 22.5W output with PD and Quick Charge 3.0, one USB-C and one USB-A output, and a 20W PD input that refills it in 4–5 hours. Ambrane says it is BIS certified and made in India. It costs ₹1,199 on Ambrane’s store, the same as Flipkart’s price on 11 September, and Flipkart had it for ₹1,079 on 11 October. The catch is a 180-day warranty, plus 30 days if you buy from Ambrane’s own store.
- ₹1,199 at Ambrane, and less on Flipkart right now
- PD for both charging and recharging
- Only a 180-day warranty
- Ambrane doesn’t list the weight
₹1,199 (₹1,079 on Flipkart on 11 October)
Note: The Xiaomi Power Bank 5i (20,000mAh, 67W) went on sale on 28 July 2026 at a “special launch price” of ₹3,499. We left it out because we couldn’t find it on Flipkart, and Amazon and Xiaomi’s store didn’t load for us to confirm its regular price.
How to choose a power bank in India
Rated mAh vs what actually reaches your phone
The mAh on the box is the capacity of the cells at their nominal 3.7V. Convert it to watt-hours (Wh) to compare: 10,000mAh × 3.7V is 37Wh, and 20,000mAh is 74Wh. The Xiaomi Pocket Power Bank Pro’s launch specs list 37Wh, for example. A 5,000mAh phone battery stores roughly 19Wh, since phone cells run at about 3.85V, so on paper a 10,000mAh bank holds just under two full charges.
In practice you get less, because the bank has to raise 3.7V to 5V, 9V or more, and some energy is lost as heat in the bank, the cable and the phone. Treat any “charges your phone X times” claim as a best case, and buy 20,000mAh if you need two full charges a day.
Match the charging standard: PD, PPS and QC
- USB Power Delivery (PD): the USB-C fast-charging standard. The power bank and your device agree on a voltage, usually between 5V and 20V. iPhones fast-charge over PD, many Android phones support it, and USB-C laptops depend on it.
- PPS (Programmable Power Supply): part of PD 3.0 that adjusts the voltage in small steps. Samsung’s Super Fast Charging relies on it. In this guide, the Samsung and the URBN Nano Zap list PPS in their specs; the two Xiaomi picks list PD and QC 3.0.
- Quick Charge (QC 3.0): Qualcomm’s older standard, mostly used over USB-A. It is still common on budget Android phones.
A phone’s headline charging speed usually needs its own charger, so check your phone’s spec page for PD or PPS support. The phones in our guide to the best phones under ₹15,000 are rated to charge at between 18W and 45W, so there’s no point paying extra for a 65W power bank just to charge one of them.
For laptops: 65W USB-C PD and the right cable
A power bank can only charge a laptop that charges over USB-C. If yours came with a 65W USB-C charger, like the HP OmniBook 3 in our guide to the best laptops for students under ₹50,000, look for at least 65W of PD output at 20V. Use a 5A USB-C cable (often sold as 100W or 240W), because a standard 3A cable tops out at 60W.
Capacity is the other limit. By our estimate, a 20,000mAh bank’s 74Wh works out, after losses, to about one full charge for a laptop with a 39.3Wh battery like the MSI Modern 14 from the same guide, but not a full charge of the HP’s 60Wh battery. Think of it as a top-up, not a second battery.
Check the BIS registration (R-number)
Power banks sold in India come under BIS’s Compulsory Registration Scheme. BIS lists “Power banks for use in portable applications” under IS 13252 (Part 1), and lithium cells and batteries for portable use, the kind inside power banks, under IS 16046 (Part 2). BIS says such goods may not be made, imported or sold without its Standard Mark and a unique registration number, which starts with “R-“. Brands rarely publish this number online, so check the label:
- Find the BIS Standard Mark on the power bank or its box and note the number that starts with R-.
- Open the List of Registered Manufacturers search on the BIS registration portal.
- Enter the number in the Registration Number (R-) box and tap Search. You can also search by brand or model.
- Check that the result shows the same brand, a power bank as the product and a valid status. If nothing comes up or the brand doesn’t match, don’t buy it.
What to ignore
- Impossible mAh claims: on 11 October, Flipkart also had listings claiming 2,00,000mAh in a “compact pocket size” body. Stick to known brands, and check the R-number.
- MRP and “% off”: URBN’s store shows a ₹5,999 “regular price” for the Nano Zap it sells at ₹2,999, and Flipkart sold the same model for ₹1,999 before the sale. Compare selling prices and ignore the discount badge.
- Bank offers: they only help if you have that exact card, so treat them as a bonus.
Mobivault shop note: In a shop or at home with a delivery, run these checks before you start using a power bank:
- Look up the R-number on the label on the BIS portal, and check that the model and capacity on the label match the box and the bill.
- Don’t accept a power bank that is swollen, cracked, rattles or feels warm straight out of the box.
- Charge your own phone with your own cable from every port and check that it shows fast charging. Then recharge the power bank once.
- For a laptop, use a 5A USB-C cable and make sure the laptop shows it is charging.
- Keep the GST bill with the warranty card. Warranties on these picks run from 180 days to one year.
Our pick
Most people should buy the Xiaomi Pocket Power Bank Pro 10000mAh 33W (₹1,699, or ₹1,599 in the sale). Choose the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh for more capacity, the URBN Nano Zap 70W for a USB-C laptop, and the Samsung 45W for Samsung’s Super Fast Charging at its sale price. The URBN Nano suits pockets, and the Ambrane Stylo 10 suits a tight budget.
- Buy the Pocket Power Bank Pro if you want one compact 10,000mAh bank with 33W USB-C output and three ports.
- Skip it if you need to charge a laptop (get the URBN Nano Zap) or want Samsung’s Super Fast Charging (get the Samsung 45W).
FAQ
Which is the best power bank in India right now?
For most people, it’s the Xiaomi Pocket Power Bank Pro 10000mAh 33W (₹1,699; ₹1,599 in the sale on 11 October 2026). Get the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh for more capacity, or the URBN Nano Zap 70W for a USB-C laptop.
How many times will a 10,000mAh power bank charge my phone?
Fewer than the number suggests. A 10,000mAh bank holds about 37Wh and a 5,000mAh phone battery about 19Wh, so even a perfect power bank would give just under two full charges. Conversion losses bring that down further.
Can a power bank charge my laptop?
Only if the laptop charges over USB-C and the power bank supplies enough PD wattage. For a laptop sold with a 65W USB-C charger, look for 65W or more, like the URBN Nano Zap’s 70W, and use a 5A USB-C cable. Laptops with a round-pin charger can’t use a USB-C power bank.
How do I check if a power bank is BIS certified?
Find the R-number next to the BIS Standard Mark on the power bank or its box. Enter it in the “List of Registered Manufacturers” search on the BIS registration portal (crsbis.in) and check that the brand, product and status match.
Can I carry a power bank on a flight?
We couldn’t confirm the current rules on an official DGCA or airline page while writing this, so we haven’t listed limits. Check your airline’s baggage or dangerous-goods page before you fly. If it gives a limit in watt-hours, a 10,000mAh bank is 37Wh and a 20,000mAh bank is 74Wh.
